Our Stylist Answer: Best Skirts for Pear-shaped Body

Staying true to our mission to make you feel and look great, we asked one of our stylists, Mel, which skirts are the best for a pear-shaped body. By all means, we don’t believe in the do’s and don’ts in dressing up since it’s one of the ways to express ourselves. We believe the only rules in expressing ourselves is “You do you”. Nonetheless, it’s good to hear an expert’s perspective. In the end, you get to decide if it “resonates” with you or not.

Before we get to our stylist’s answer, let’s get to know your body first. Look for these signs!

Do you have pear-shaped body?

  • Your hips are wider than your shoulders
  • You have a well-defined waistline
  • Your buttocks and thighs are full and round

Mel Answers:

Depending on your confidence level, if you want to show your bottom curve you can choose either a mermaid or pencil skirt (look for a fitted, comfy skirt with stretch material).

Otherwise, if you’re not comfortable in it, an A-line skirt to the rescue! A-line skirt will create an illusion to hide your wide features.

When you have pear shape curves, your playzone is the upper half of your body. Always keep in mind to create a balance for your body. For example, you can create an X-line silhouette with off shoulder top and v-neck top.

If you have a pear-shaped body, don’t fret! Beyonce, Tyra Banks, and Christina Aguilera are known for their curvy figures. You can pay attention to what they wear because they can definitely be your source of inspiration!

Also, if you’re still unsure about what to wear, you can always count on us! Just lets our stylists know if you have some concerns about your body type and we’ll try to pick the most flattering item for you.
