How to Channel Clueless at Work (and Halloween!)

Did you grow up in the ’90s? If so, the outfits in Clueless could possibly be attached in the back of your mind without you even realizing. The movie is so iconic that evidently, influences fashion even after two decades after it was released. Yeah, it was released 24 years ago in 1995 *gasp*.

If you’ve never heard about Clueless, it’s a modestly budgeted comedy teen movie that tells a story of Cher Horowitz (played by Alicia Silverstone) and her best friend Dionne Davenport (played by Stacey Dash), two of the most popular sophomores in school. They play matchmakers for two teachers. Later, inspired by their success, Cher takes under her wing Tai, a “clueless” transfer student. She and Dion give her a makeover and attempt to find her a boyfriend. Cher soon realizes that she wants a boyfriend herself, but no one seems right. She goes through a spiritual makeover and realizes that there’s more to life than clothes and popularity.

From perfect plaid to velvet dress, you can totally wear her key looks to the office! Let’s try to embody a super-wealthy stylish teen in 1990s America!

(Don’t Be) Clueless at Work

While Cher wears a blue shirt under her sweater vest, we think a clean-cut and simple black vest is more appropriate for the modern time. Make sure that your socks are at least knee-high!

Woman in Charge

For a busy day with meetings and 15-minute breaks in between, put on your polished blazer. Twist today’s outfit to be more playful with plaids blazer and a beret!
