2020 seems like a special year. Not only that it’s a new decade, the numbers are coined nicely, the double twenty. Somehow these two unrelated facts make us feel pumped up about next year. We think it’s gonna be an iconic year for all of us *prayer circle commenced*.
With a new year comes a new set of resolutions. The phrase “new year, new me” is kinda overrated, so we decided to cross off “Try trend xxx to bla bla bla” or “Wear the piece you didn’t wear in 2019” for 2020’s resolutions. We want 2020 to be the year of realizashun (read: realization, as written by hip kids these days), so instead of trying out new things, we want to improve what we’re doing instead. So, here are the style resolutions you need to have for 2020!
Finding/keep looking for your personal style
Finding a personal style can be a lifetime journey (read how our customers find theirs here). If you think you haven’t found “signature” style in 2019, don’t fret! Maybe you’ll find the style you’re vibing with in 2020. Who knows? Just keep exploring colors, trends, and prints. Sometimes, it’ll come to you naturally when you’re not expecting it.
Stick to who you are, regardless of what others say
Congratulations if you’re one of the people who have found their personal style. But sometimes it’s even harder to stick to who you are because nowadays people think they can just tell you what to wear and what not to wear. Keep working on your confidence. When in doubt, don’t listen to other people, but to yourself. If you’re happy and comfortable with your style, go for it!
Shop clothes smarter
If you think you almost emptied your wallet every time you shop for clothes in 2019, that’s a sign for you to put this resolution on top of everything. Here’s a tip from our trusty stylist (Selis) on how to shop more efficient. Let’s save up some money (and time) in 2020!
Organize your wardrobe regularly
Whenever you have the time to peek into your wardrobe, try to find some items that: 1) don’t fit you anymore, 2) out of style (or at least the ones that you’re no longer into), 3) you don’t want to wear anymore. Collect those items and donate it. Check out @setali.indonesia and @sadarisedari on Instagram if you’re unsure where to donate your items. Once you make this a habit, you’ll have more guilt-free shopping spree and your wardrobe stays fresh!
Let’s think more about sustainability
OK, on a more serious note, our earth is in critical condition and it’s never too late to start thinking more about sustainability. Sustainability has been a rising topic in the fashion industry since a few years ago. The insiders have been talking about responsible fashion dan designing a more environmentally-conscious collection more often than ever and you can be a part of it too. Start evaluating your wardrobe, donate items if necessary, think long and smart before you shop, only shop for items you really need, and lastly recycle if you decide not to donate your clothes.
We hope you can fulfill the resolutions! Good luck to all of us 🙂
